French term
bateaux à contre-courant
French to English
Other
Ships, Sailing, Maritime
rafting, hydro-jet
It's the title. All the context I have is below:

: I like 'against the current' better for the play on words though all are good. This reminds me of the SUV commercial where they color/drive outside the lines :-)

Comment: "Well, I'm still on the fence with this one! I really don't know if the term is supposed to describe the type of boat or if it is an adjective to describe these adventure-type boats. Either way, it is "against the current" (in the literal and figurative sense). Therefore, I have modified the entry a bit so I can close this question. Thank you all for your help."

out of the ordinary boats
I'm with mactrad on this one - it's a play on words - the boats are not running upstream at all but if you do something 'à contre courant' it means you're not going with the crowd, you're going against the grain - so it means that these aren't just any old boats - but special, different, extraordinary - Sorry it's not a very inspired translation but I'm pretty sure that's what it means.
