I suggested against the tide or current to be on that line. But rememver the fun with power boats is also to run againt the tide, waves or go upstream in a river.

I think I would do something along those lines, perhaps with "exciting", otherwise it's not a true phrase, it needs a verb such as naviguer, voguer...

Other titles in the text are "Des bateaux originaux" and "Des bateaux impressionants". I've given this some more thought and since this is a tourism document and not a technical one, I think I will give it the title of "Adventure Boats". What do you think? It would still be useful to have the "technical" word so I will leave this open for the KudoZ glossary.

funny title, rafts and other paddle-propelled craft generally go downstream in these kind of sports, the text alludes to this at the end, the shuttle presumably taking the participants upstream...

agree Claire Chapman : I like 'against the current' better for the play on words though all are good. This reminds me of the SUV commercial where they color/drive outside the lines :-)

I'm with mactrad on this one - it's a play on words - the boats are not running upstream at all but if you do something 'à contre courant' it means you're not going with the crowd, you're going against the grain - so it means that these aren't just any old boats - but special, different, extraordinary - Sorry it's not a very inspired translation but I'm pretty sure that's what it means.
