(Beta) NUM
Because Beta SP and Beta Num are both trademarks and therefore proper nouns (like the term DVD itself), they should be left in the original. If you translate them, people ordering the media may end up ordering the wrong format.

: Safest bet --- it might not be a stand-alone type of VR; also, I think DVR MAY be a proprietary term; certainly, different manufacturers call them different things...

: No, it is made clear in the context that this is a VIDEO recorder, which is not at all the same thing as an EVN / D Voice R!
