When I started freelancing almost ten years ago, I used a variety of methods to reach out to potential clients. I placed an ad in the local yellow pages (no lead whatsoever), I sent out hundreds of emails to translation agencies (this landed me a couple of jobs), but by far the most efficient way of promotion was using the features that are available on ProZ.com.

I have acquired 60% of the total number of my clients via ProZ.com. The site is extremely efficient and is visited by serious outsourcers. Therefore, I will stay with the site!

I have grown with ProZ.com and I am really very happy with my membership. This is the only reason why I have paid for my membership years in advance and I intend to do so in the coming years. As an old song used to say, more or less, "Jeepers, creepers... where�d ya get them... 'ideas'"? These new features are simply fantastic and they work beautifully. My platinum membership is worth every dollar.

ProZ.com was my only way of being independent while waiting for working papers to come through (which they didn't in 3 years!)...After that, I just stick to it and I will remain to do so because it has since become my "workplace".

Avant tout, ProZ représente pour moi une plate-forme d’échanges internationale permettant de côtoyer d’autres traducteurs via les forums et les formations –je pense notamment au France Regional Event- . J’apprécie également la possibilité de pouvoir obtenir des informations sur les agences de traduction et les donneurs d’ordre en général grâce au Blue Board (certes non exhaustif, mais ô combien utile !), et de l’aide en cas de besoin avec les KudoZ. De plus, grâce à ProZ, j’ai trouvé un client avec lequel je travaille régulièrement : espérons que cela ne soit que le début d’une longue série !...

En fait, ProZ offre l’opportunité de développer son réseau à la fois en termes de « collègues » et de clients. Un investissement que je suis donc prête à renouveler !
