Suponho que o verbo bater seja o equivalente ao rematar em Portugal, daí que a sua tradução mais directa para contexto desportivo seja "shoot", neste caso "shot" pois o tempo verbal está no passado.
Penso que em inglês não há nada semelhante à expressão portuguesa "rematou ao ângulo da baliza", pelo que a melhor maneira que me ocorre é dizer "right to the corner angle", não pode ser apenas corner para não se confundir com pontapé de canto.
O uso de "right" é apenas para enfatizar o facto do remate ter sido puxado mesmo para o ângulo.

Além de "shoot" também se poderiam usar outros verbos como "kick", mas penso que neste contexto específico "shoot" enquadra-se melhor.
Penso que em inglês não há nada semelhante à expressão portuguesa "rematou ao ângulo da baliza", pelo que a melhor maneira que me ocorre é dizer "right to the corner angle", não pode ser apenas corner para não se confundir com pontapé de canto.

: shoot is correct for "bater." Players "shoot" on goal. However, they don't "kick" on goal. In this context, your added noted is incorrect. "Bater" could not be translated as "kick"

According to Oxford Dictionary, "shoot: (In football, hockey, basketball, etc.) kick, hit, or throw the ball or puck in an attempt to score a goal." However, I did say that in this specific context "shoot" is more accurate, for the same reasons as you do.
