imatahan I'm saying that hazard pay, at least for the US Govt, refers to dangers--for example, for a civilian serving in Iraq. That would be "periculosidade"--right? 'Notably unhealthful conditions' is the term used by the US govt for someone serving in the Arctic or an extremely hot climate, in the midst of an epidemic, etc. I answered the asker's tandem question about "insalubridade" and I was referring you to that answer, where I provided a full quote of the relevant executive order http://www.proz.com/kudoz/portuguese_to_english/human_resour...

Muriel If Hazard's pay is the same as unhealthful conditions pay, it's insalubridade in Portuguese and NOT periculosidade!

Hazard pay not same as 'unhealthful conditions' At least for differentials paid to employees and contractors of the US Government, the two conditions are different. The third condition is mentioned in my answer to "insalubridade."

Also called "environmental differential" ...by the US Government. But the meaning isn't immediately clear, so I would avoid it.
