Silhar é o nome que, em construção, dá-se à pedra lavrada em formato quadrangular, mormente em quadrados, usada para o revestimento de paredes.
Constitui-se num dos elementos decorativos da arquitectura, principalmente no período neo-clássico, embora seu uso precípuo tenha se dado nas edificações medievais, como os castelos e fortes.

Silhar também é o nome dado para a pedra em que uma das faces se estende até a metade da parede.
