The general term is "rope traverse." You may see "Tyrolean traverse" or Tyrolean crossing" as well, but this is a specific rigging method for a rope traverse (probably the most common.) See the reference link for a mildly amusing graphic depiction of a rope traverse. (Ah, memories . . .)
