A hooking point may actually be a hook or loop (clamp etc.) if you think about it - there has to be something a hook can engage with on a slab or crate.

There may be lots of reasons - safety and balance for instance. The hooking point must be above the centre of gravity if the load is to be hoisted, or the load will be unstable when it is lifted off the ground.

The hooking point of a crate or packaging must be strong enough to bear the weight of the package during handling, and robust enough to prevent the hook from breaking through the packaging and damaging the contents.

If the excavator is being used to lift building elements, pipes etc. into place, they cannot always just be loaded into the bucket, so I can understand the remark about handling them properly.
Note from asker:
well Mrs. Andersen might be right, it does make sense. But i need 100% confidence, since the text will go straight to the print. What is the difference between hooking point and anchoring point?
Mr Widenmann is actually right too, because how can a hooking point be a hook?
Peer comment(s):

agree Nikolaj Widenmann : Or "hooking device", since a hook to me is more of a device than a point. Then again, I am not a construction expert.
