Discussion

STAMATIOS FASSOULAKIS Apr 23, 2011:
I couldn't agree more Dylan however the flexible means also that can change any time while this is not what the law stipulates I think. Happy Easter.
Dylan Edwards (asker) Apr 23, 2011:
"Individual labour contracts" (or "individual contracts of employment") - perhaps it's in the sense of "individualised contracts of employment". I also think "flexible contracts of employment" gets the idea across, more or less, to the English reader.
STAMATIOS FASSOULAKIS Apr 20, 2011:
Yes Dylan its the new concept that the employee/worker can be fired within a year without compensation while before this new law (2010), after two months in employment the company had to compensate him with one months salary.
Dylan Edwards (asker) Apr 20, 2011:
Thanks, yes, it's very much about that particular law.

Looking around for this use of "α λα κάρτ", I find, for example: "Κατά 17,86% αυξήθηκαν οι εργαζόμενοι αλά καρτ!"

I suppose this is something to do with "flexible" forms of employment.
STAMATIOS FASSOULAKIS Apr 20, 2011:
α λα κάρτ This is a French expression and I believe that here it means on a specific project under the new labor law 3899/2010. See ref.

recycling to order

At first read, it seemed to me that the "α λα κάρτ" was associated with "Ανακύκλωση". If that's so, then I think my suggestion fits.

I mean: recycling of workers to order ... (in case that wasn't clear)

workers according to the job offers

À la carte (pronounced /ælæˈkɑrt/)[1] is a French language loan phrase meaning "according to the menu", and used in restaurant terminology as:

A reference to a menu of items priced and ordered separately, in contrast to a table d'hôte, at which a menu with limited or no choice is served at a fixed price.
To designate an option to choose, at no extra charge, a side dish to accompany a main course item.

The phrase was adopted into English in 1826, predating by a decade the common use of the French language loanword "menu"
