Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): writeaway

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

agree B D Finch : Excellent references, with the terms clearly defined in each language, but it would be useful if you actually quoted them rather than just giving the links.

disagree janice parker : sorry - but, as former social worker, I really think this implies financial support, as B D Finch says.

Social accompaniment

je pense que le mot "social accompaniment" est plus au moins adéquat comme mot traduit, car "social assistance" est plus larage est englobe l'assistane offerte par le service social comme par ex allocation socaile pour les plus démunis.

neutral cmwilliams (X) : This doesn't really mean anything in English. I know there are Ghits for it but most are found on translated sites.

but when we say social support or social assistane its sound very vaguely. i mean this translation is in the most large sense of the word. Our term to translate is about some thing specific.
disagree B D Finch : Not a recognisable phrase in English, though it does carry overtones of escort agencies.// That would be a fresh KudoZ question.
7 hrs
i agree with you, but how to translate "accompagnateur social" in this case?
disagree janice parker : Has musical overtones to me! 'accompagnateur' would be 'social support worker'.
19 hrs
janice yes now i agree with you when you added "worker" and become "social support worker" but only social support or social assistance does not give the full meaning to "accompagnateur social"
