thermodilatation

Technique / Génie
Physique
Thermostatic taps
Context:
Another patent that I am editing and this has been translated as "thermodilation" which surely means "expansion".
Is my thinking correct or should I go back to bed?
TIA Chris.

In something like a patent, I think it's probably important to keep the 'thermal' in there.
However, I'd tend to avoid 'dilation', which tends to be used more in EN for things like openings: 'dilated pupils' etc.
