Sons Tony, I was perplexed by that too.... Something didn't seem quite right.

Something sounds a bit odd here, I'm puzzled by this use of 'sons', where I'd have expected something like 'canaux audio'.

It may simply be 'intra-techie' jargon that I'm not familiar with, but I'd advocate a little circumspection here, just in case there is some hidden detail relating in some way to your wider context.
