Discussion

Paul Hirsh (asker) Jan 9, 2009:
voici Here is the sentence: I have left the bits I don't know in French

The three phase project has equipped it with THOR thermohydraulics code, the true market standard, for modelling the primary cycle, the secondary island (main steam circuit, turbines, extractors, condensers, water feed), the transport des espèces, the enceinte de confinement and ventilation and air conditioning systems.

while a lot of the simulation work involves introducing malfunctions, this list seems to be one of basic systems (ie working properly)

Can you tell us more? Sounds more like something Brinks might do!

nuclide transportation

transport/transfer/transmission of contaminants

Just looked in the AFNOR dict.

"Espèce contaminante" is given as "contaminant". Would that fit your context???

Possibly foreign bodies in gas or liquids?

Sorry, that confidence level is not meant to be so high.
Peer comment(s):

agree Claire Cox : Yes, if it's modelling the transfer of contaminants, that would work

agree Radu DANAILA : espèces (contaminantes) = contaminants (Dictionnaire Framatome)

transportation of (radioactive) materials

'espèces' is quite vague but clearly concerns nuclear fuel, radioactive, materials
Peer comment(s):

agree Adam Warren : I'm not disputing any of these entirely valid contributions, merely remarking that "espèces" is rather like "specie" aboard a ship
