While WRITEAWAY has all the right words, I'm not convinced they go together or of the word order.

Sure "conducteur" is "handler" but I think the certificate is in "dog handling"!

What about "elementary/basic certificate in dog handling skills"

It was not my intention to steal points nor ruffle your feathers Writeaway. I hither to apologise. I take your point but did spend time checking your answer and Google searching. Didn't wish to infringe on etiquette grounds either. Judgement call!

Alan's answer isn't wrong of course but it's 6 one way/half-dozen the other and the French does emphasize the handler, not the handling.
