French term

les coulisses bicipitales sont silencieuses

French to English Medical Medical (general) orthopedics
« Examen des épaules
La musculature est bien développée au niveau des ceintures scapulaires et thoraciques. Les stemo-claviculaires, les acromio-claviculaires, les coulisses sous-acromiales antérieures et latérales, les coulisses bicipitales sont silencieuses. "

I am revising a translation done by another translator who has rendered this as:
"...the bicipital grooves are quiet »

I am looking for confirmation that "quiet" is the term used in English to describe this condition.

CA-FR to CA-EN, target audience: physicians

Thanks

Discussion

Joshua Wolfe (asker) Oct 21, 2013:
seeking confirmation term can be used in English As a general rule, when revising a translation by a professional, I don't make changes unless I think they are necessary. I decided to use the word 'silent' since the metaphor works in English -- I didn't need to add more details than what was contained in the source text, which is what the two answerers suggested.
