Ainsi, on connaît des baies à déboitement, dans lesquelles le vantail coulissant est supporté par des éléments de quincaillerie, qui assurent un déplacement d'ouverture et de fermeture perpendiculaire au plan de la baie, pour placer le vantail coulissant soit dans le plan du vantail fixe (position fermée) soit dans un plan de coulissement, décalé, permettant ensuite un coulissement du vantail coulissant.
This should be the last question for this job (hopefully!!). For "déboitement" I've found dislocation but in a medical context so no good here. I've already used disengagement for another term in the patent so can't use that. Any other ideas?? Thanks in advance.

Would I think work here: this rather complicated mechanism seems to displace the sliding leaf laterally, in order for it to clear the fixed leaf. Think the sliding side door on a Transit van...

I suppose 'lateral-displacement' would be more explicit! Although it's important not to confuse this with the sideways sliding movement!

It appears to have some similarity to "venting windows" ... but sounds like it has a very complex mechanism allowing the window to be "shifted back".
