French term

Démarreur limiteur d'ampérage

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng
This is part of a description of hot air blowers. I thought of "soft-starter" but I am not sure it is the appropriate term!

current-limiting starter

I have 'démarreur progressif' in my current document for 'softstarter', this description makes it sound like something more specific... though the end result is probably going to be the same!

Thank you very much Tony, for taking the time to help me with this!

Inrush current limiter/Starter that limits inrush current

I've never heard of a "limiteur d'ampérage" but I understand it to mean the same as a "limiteur de courant". I'm not sure if my understanding is correct though, hence the medium confidence.

Here are some examples of this in use:

thanks
neutral Tony M : Not strictly technically accurate: we must keep the 'starter' bit, and when starting motors, it's not quite the same 'inrush' current as for other components like, say, transformers or light-bulbs! / I'm not guessing or imagining I speak from experience.

Your guess is as good as mine Tony. It's a list. You can't imagine information that isn't there.
