French to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy Paper on teaching & building competencies

This teaching paper is discussing here the building of competencies in terms of the psychological processes. It has been discussing how we work out problems (using arithmetic as the example). I have used the verb "we predict" here. However, my question is what is it exactly that the reader/writer of this paper is postulating, predicting or claiming? I cannot find which verb relates to this after the clauses which follow this term.

The context in this part reads:

"Ainsi, sur cette base théorique, nous postulons, au moment de la mise en contact de l’élève avec le phénomène à investiguer, l’implication conjointe de facteurs motivationnels situés (sentiment de compétence, attrait spécifique pour la tâche et peur de l’échec principalement) et d’un processus cognitif de compréhension des attendus explicites et implicites de l’énoncé à l’origine du modèle mathématique construit ou choisi et utilisé."

I have translated this as:

"Thus, on this basis we predict that at the moment of the student's contact with the phenomenon to be investigated, the joint involvement of motivational factors taking place (perceived competency, specific appeal of the task and fear of failure mainly), and of a cognitive process of understanding the explicit and the implicit expected of the statement at the origins of the mathematical model which is built or chosen, and used."

It feels like something should follow, or have I missed something here?
