Both are plausible terms, probably originally taken from the EN.
By 'detection', I would assume they are referring to 'movement detection' — this may very likely be referring to the process know as 'motion capture', but it would be as well to confirm the appropriateness or not of that term with your wider context.

OK, if it is for a kids cartoon, then I strongly suspect it IS going to be 'motion capture'; it would, however, be reassuring to have that corroborated by further context. Whatever, you probably wouldn't be far wrong using it...

I should have completed my answer by saying that I am now convinced Phil's discussion entry is correct, and this is all about voice detection and NOT motion capture.
By 'detection', I would assume they are referring to 'movement detection' — this may very likely be referring to the process know as 'motion capture', but it would be as well to confirm the appropriateness or not of that term with your wider context.

Not sure about 'voicing' though — to me, that sounds more like the preceding stage, i.e. the voice recording itself. 'voice breakdown' would probably convey the idea, though I somehow think there must be a proper jargon term for that!
La détection
Les voix (définitives ou maquettes) sont enregistrées avant l’animation, de sorte que l’animateur puisse dessiner correctement les bouches des personnages. La détection doit assurer le synchronisme du son et de l’image. Elle consiste en la décomposition des
phonèmes et en l’indication de leur durée à l’image avec le numéro de bouche correspondant. Ce travail s’effectue sur feuille de détection, qui peut inclure la musique et les bruitages. Il arrive que la détection soit intégrée au storyboard ou bien à la feuille d’exposition.
Des logiciels d’assistance à la détection, ou de lipsync partiellement automatisé, ont également fait leur apparition et commencent à être régulièrement employés. L’objectif est d’abréger une tâche fastidieuse.
