There is a tiny amount of quite technical language in a legal document I am translating:
"Le marché, a pour objet la fourniture 9000 flacons contenant 100µg d'AcSDKP-NH2 base, nécessaire à la réalisation de l’essai clinique dénommé..."
I can't give the full title of the proposed clinical trial for obvious reasons, but elsewhere in the document it refers to this same substance as "un analogue amidé du tetrapeptide AcSDKP" and "tetrapeptide amidé AcSDKP-NH2 sous forme de sel d’acétate". I have had no difficulty translating these other terms, it's really just the significance of 'base' that I'm unsure of.
