Note the misconception that the associé has to be a person as a private individual, rather than a corporate entity : 'une SAS unipersonnelle est une SAS qui ne compte qu'un seul associé, pouvant être *une personne physique ou une personne morale'.
I'm unsure a simplified joint-stock company or one with shares/ limited by shares is meaningful, when the loose, flexible structure ought to be highlighted.
Any person may form a single-member company and would file with the registrar at the time of incorporation a nomination in the form as set.

: "Member" is the term used in US LLC's, but for any type of entity that has stock, the word is shareholder. So that's the normal translation of associé.
