Flood System, or Ebb and Flow System. Flood systems are what the
name implies, and they can be automated or done by hand (flood
systems are now commonly referred to as "ebb and flow" systems).
The principle is that periodically a nutrient solution is released and
floods the pots. Drainage tubes or runoff troughs catch the excess
solution that drains from the pots, and the solution is then recycled
during the next flooding, thus the term "ebb and flow".

Notiunea este cuplata "flood and drain"=inundare si drenare.
Un sistem de irigatie cu capilare in care se "inunda" si se dreneaza. De asemenea se mai numeste "ebb and flow" adica flux si reflux.

O alta denumire este sistem de udare.
Sintagma "udare-drenaj".
"Plantele cresc intr-o camera care poate fi umpluta cu diverse substraturi, de tipul Grorocks sau Hydrodensa, din argila expandata, care au rolul de a sustine sistemul radicular, si de a asigura o proportie corecta intre udare si drenaj."
