Swedish term

Sillanskiva

Swedish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering House foundations
House built in 1966 with a concrete floor. Plans show layers in floor, including a "5 cm sillanskiva". This appears to be beneath the actual concrete floor.

I do like Michael's Siljan idea though. Put Siljan in the sökfält on that page and there are various kinds of board products. Anyway, hope you get somewhere!

@ Matt Looking into this I got a feeling this has a 'Finnish' connection -- some of my searches came up with Finnish building info... not my specialty...
Michael Ellis Feb 22, 2017:
Siljan Could it be a typo for Siljan skiva? See
http://www.alltombostad.se/dyn/pdc/search/search.jsp?site=9
for some ideas.
Otherwise agree Matt.
Matt Bibby Feb 21, 2017:
'Sillan' is 'bridge' in Finnish, I wonder if it could simply be a 'bridging layer'? Probably written by a Finlandssvensk who couldn't think of the Swedish word (which would be more like 'brygglager' or 'bryggplatta' I guess).
