run service operation

anglais vers français Affaires / Finance Entreprise / commerce vehicle flow management
This is a document about vehicle flow management and the 5S principles (sort, straighten, shine, standardise, sustain).

Context:
What is Vehicle Flow Management?
Define the efficient traffic flow in dealer and run service operation process along with the traffic flow.

Here is the phrase which I do not understand and don't know how to translate.

"Dealer and run service operation process" (as you can see the phrase cannot very well be divided, so that I have had to truncate my request in the "Term or Phrase" box.

This is a title in a powerpoint so it might also be a telegraphic style, I am not sure.

It would appear that the word "run" is used as a noun and not a verb in this context.

Could anyone help with this? Clarification and/or suggested translation?

Discussion

Cassandra Delacote (asker) Feb 7, 2017:
yes thanks, it is clearer.
Daryo Feb 7, 2017:
the whole picture is much clearer now (1) Define the efficient traffic flow in dealer

define what is the best path for the vehicles to be moved along inside the dealership/workshop

(2) run service operation process along with the traffic flow

organise the process of performing all the operations that are part of servicing a vehicle literally/physically along that line/path IOW make something similar to "une chaine de production"

Cassandra Delacote (asker) Feb 7, 2017:
it refers to the flow of vehicles inside the "dealership cum workshop".

But again "fournir des services" does not adequately translate the term "service operation process" (I have in fact posted this as a separate request, which you could then answer for points if you so wish)
Daryo Feb 7, 2017:
more context would be useful where is this "flow of vehicles" happening?

Is it the flow of vehicles inside the "dealership cum workshop" - (organising the flow of vehicles inside the premises)

or it is about

managing a fleet of vehicle [leased from this dealership and] operating on the roads?

That could make clearer what kind of "services" are referred to. (maintenance of vehicles or some other kind of "services"?), although it's always possible to simpy leave it as "fournir des services" or similar.
Cassandra Delacote (asker) Feb 7, 2017:
Daryo, do you perhaps want to make a suggestion for points?
Cassandra Delacote (asker) Feb 7, 2017:
Based on the help received from Daryo with this sentence, I have translated it as follows:

"Définir le flux de circulation efficace dans la concession et gérer le processus des opérations de service en parallèle avec le sens de la circulation". Would you say that is a good rendering of the text?
Cassandra Delacote (asker) Feb 7, 2017:
Just to mention also that it is not exactly a title, but part of a powerpoint which is all in a somewhat cryptic style, especially as it is not written by a native English speaker, but an Afrikaans person who also speaks English. (It is a South African document)
Cassandra Delacote (asker) Feb 7, 2017:
Thank you so much Daryo, for this extremely helpful input, and of course, you are quite right and it makes perfect sense!
Daryo Feb 7, 2017:
"run" is a VERB Define the efficient traffic flow in dealer and run service operation process along with the traffic flow.
=

(1) Define the efficient traffic flow in dealer

and

(2) run (verb) service operation process

along with (in parallel, in coordination with ...)

(3) the traffic flow.

IOW the point is that the "service operation process" is run in a way not to impede the traffic flow

no ways that "run" could be a noun - "define" being the only verb wouldn't make any sense whatsoever in this sentence [you would end up with: "the traffic flow" being defined along "the traffic flow"???]

BTW is this is the title, it's better left to be translated AT THE END - by the time you have finished translating the main text the exact meaning of the title should become obvious.
