Discussion

Petr Kedzior (asker) Jun 25, 2014:
No comment I have not been authorized to confirm or deny such speculation.
Pavel Slama Jun 25, 2014:
Are they about to sell the format abroad? The next x-factor?
Petr Kedzior (asker) Jun 25, 2014:
The point is.... (surprisingly)... that the customer wants to have it translated :-)
Pavel Slama Jun 25, 2014:
Why? But what is the point of translating it?

Taking a Dip with...

I'd angle for a "double meaning" so beloved of the Anglo-Saxons. Here "dip" would refer to going for a paddle with someone (i.e. an aqua version of going for a walk with someone) while dipping into their history/opinions, etc.

At lido with ......

A lido (/ˈliːdoʊ/ lee-doh or /ˈlaɪdoʊ/ ly-doh), in the United Kingdom and some other countries, refers to a public outdoor swimming pool and surrounding facilities, or part of a beach where people can swim, lie in the sun or participate in water sports.

At the lido/beach with...

Podle wikipedie
http://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Občanská_plovárna

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lido
ale je to hlavně britský výraz.

Příklad:

Pokud to není pro britské publikum, pak asi

TV talk show "Na plovárně" ("At the Swimming Bath")

Takto to mají na vlastních stránkách.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Stuart Hoskins : that's the problem, though. It's not a "talk show" in the conventional sense and "At the Swimming Bath" sounds terrible :(

You´re right, Stuart, it does sound terrible. I just wanted to point to the more or less "official" website of the programme in case Petr needs it.

(Though I like Stewart's suggestion, too, this one strikes me as pretty much spot on.)
