What are the benefits of visiting foreign sites?
There are many different benefits. For example, if you view Sony’s Japanese website, you will see information about products that are not available in your own region. You may also want to download a program that has been created in an another language but can be understood and used by its menu icons. You may need to translate the site, however, to work out how to download it.

Why can I read some of the words but not others?
The words you cannot read are probably image files. Many website designers work with certain words, phrases or letters in an image-editing program so that they will stand out more from other text on the site. The file is then saved as an image file, which will look the same on any web browser from any region, so you can often view parts of a page without any extra files needing to be downloaded.

So, look out for image-based words!
