Text d'origen - Català La connectivitat ecològica entre espais naturals és imprescindible per a garantir la funcionalitat dels sistemes naturals i permetre l’intercanvi genètic entre poblacions de flora i fauna. Cal recordar que la Convenció de la Diversitat Biològica identifica la pèrdua d’hàbitats i la fragmentació dels ecosistemes com una de les principals causes directes de pèrdua de biodiversitat.
Per això, no és suficient la declaració d’espais naturals protegits, fins i tot si es gestionessin adequadament, sinó que cal una autèntica xarxa de connectors ecològics que relliguin aquest 30% del territori que està protegit. Cal imaginar el territori com una malla on els nodes són els espais naturals, i les fibres que els connecten són els connectors ecològics. No té sentit una xarxa sense fils. A l’actualitat, i en la perspectiva dels darrers 30 anys de desenvolupament urbanístic, l’augment massiu de la superfície urbanitzada (zones residencials, industrials, d’equipaments, comercials o logístiques) i d’infraestructures de transport ha significat l’afebliment o el trencament definitiu de molts d’aquests fils que connecten els nodes del territori, els espais naturals.
Traducció - Espanyol La conectividad ecológica entre espacios naturales es imprescindible para garantizar la funcionalidad de los sistemas naturales y permitir el intercambio genético entre poblaciones de flora y fauna. Hay que recordar que el Convenio sobre la Diversidad Biológica identifica la pérdida de hábitats y la fragmentación de los ecosistemas como una de las principales causas directas de la pérdida de biodiversidad.
Por ello, no basta con declarar espacios naturales protegidos (ni aunque se gestionaran adecuadamente), sino que hace falta una auténtica red de conectores ecológicos que unan ese 30% del territorio que está protegido. Hay que imaginar el territorio como una malla, en la que los nodos son los espacios naturales y los hilos que los conectan son los conectores ecológicos. Una red sin hilos no tiene sentido. En la actualidad, y desde el prisma de los últimos 30 años de desarrollo urbanístico, el aumento masivo de la superficie urbanizada (zonas residenciales, industriales, de equipamientos, comerciales o logísticas) y de las infraestructuras de transporte ha significado el debilitamiento o la rotura definitiva de muchos de estos hilos que conectan los nodos del territorio, los espacios naturales.

Text d'origen - Espanyol Los mapaches son de naturaleza inquieta y curiosa y requieren grandes espacios para vivir, por lo que se ponen nerviosos en una casa y pueden resultar agresivos –es frecuente que muerdan a las personas. Al ser imposibles de educar, muy movidos y al tener que estar vigilados para evitar accidentes o daños, muchos terminan en una jaula olvidados, empeorando aún más su situación y provocando que se tornen agresivos y nerviosos y que desarrollen obesidad y otros problemas de salud. Por lo general, los propietarios desconocen las necesidades nutricionales de estos animales, y suelen ofrecerles una dieta inapropiada.
Muchas personas irresponsables deciden abandonar a estos animales en bosques o parques, inconscientes de los daños tanto ambientales como personales que esto puede significar, además de poner en riesgo la vida del animal y su bienestar. Existen diversas zonas, como el parque del Sureste en Madrid, dónde viven los mapaches que un día fueron objeto de un capricho efímero. Los mapaches liberados suelen adaptarse bien a sus nuevos hábitats pero desequilibran gravemente los ecosistemas locales; actúan como depredadores y atacan a las especies autóctonas.
Traducció - Anglès Raccoons are lively and inquisitive by nature, and require large open spaces. Inside a house they get nervous and they can become aggressive –and so they frequently bite people. Since they are restless, impossible to educate, and it is necessary to keep a close watch on them in order to prevent accidents or damage, many raccoons end up in a cage and consigned to oblivion. That only worsens the situation, causing the animals to become more aggressive and nervous, and to develop obesity and other health problems. In general, owners are not aware of the nutritional needs of these animals, and often feed them an inappropriate diet.
Many irresponsible people decide to abandon raccoons in forests or parks, unaware of the environmental and personal damage which may follow, and endangering the animal's life and welfare. There are several areas, such as the 'Parque del Sureste' ('Southeastern Park') in Madrid, where the raccoons that were once bought on a whim happen to live now. Released raccoons often adapt well to their new habitat, but they seriously unbalance local ecosystems, by acting as predators and attacking native species.
