My native language is French and I speak English fluently. I currently live in Mexico but used to live a mere mile away from Paris where I grew up and spent quite a lot of time. I translate texts from English to French. I use all of the MS Office and Adobe suites as well as, Trados Studio 2009 (for which I have the Level 1 Certification) and Trados Studio 2014.
I have a Master’s Degree in Juridical, Technical and Economical Translation (included video game translation classes) and in the interest of specializing in video game translation I have devoted an enormous amount of time to becoming familiar with a wide range of video games and the lexicons associated with these.
I have experience working as a translator, proofreader and project manager, handling many large projects for several important companies through recognized translation agencies. For example, projects for: ONERA, Air France, the DGA of the French Ministry of Defense, Kapsch TraffiCom, Rhodia, MMA, france.fr, AREVA, NATO’s CSO (Collaboration Support Office, former Research and Technology Organisation), Kongsberg, Saab, Panhard, the OIML, etc.
I have been translating regularly video game texts since July 2016.
Besides translating, I have extensive experience with IT and video games, including Windows troubleshooting, working on the design of an Open Simulator project and several hours of experience with video games in both English and French, such as: Star Wars: The Old Republic (3,800 hours), Path of Exile (1,200 hours), Diablo II (2,000 hours), Battlestar Galactica Online (2,500 hours), Doom 3 (500 hours), Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II (1,200 hours), various Tomb Raider games (3,000 hours), Civilization IV (300 hours), Age of Empires I and II (3,000 hours), Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 (3,500 hours) and countless hours of experience with many other games in English and French over several years. |
