Hi everyone,

2. Is it available only as a web interface or is there a desktop application? If desktop: also for Linux?

3. Is Wordcope effective for all types of documents? How does it deal with images and tags?

6. How's good at translating literature/ professional terms such as medical or law?

7. Is word scope available in Somali?

8. Will it accept open source software such as Open Office?

9. How can it handle consistency across sentences? That is, using the same word across many sentences.

10, The access to all these AI options are included in Wordscope without the need to pay for each of them separately to activate them?

11. Where is the draft translation coming from? Wordscope or Chat GPT?

12. Can you open packages in Wordscope, work on them and send them back as a package to the client?

13. How much does it cost? Is there a special discount for developing countries?

14. Are there any privacy issues working with ChatGPT, even if the link of the project is private?

15. How do you deal with languages that have 20 variants, like Spanish?

Let's stop here for now and let me mention that all site users are welcome to join the TV event that is still running. The presentation with Philippe has been recorded and will be available for site users within 24 hours, site membership will have lifelong access to the TV event video recordings.

All the best,

Hello everyone,

Below you will find our responses to the various questions that were posed during my wordscope presentation.

Thank you all for attending and for your engaging inquiries!

1. How do we use this machine for some of us our language pairs are not available on AI tools, ChatGTP

Answer : If the languages you require are not supported by the AI tools currently available within Wordscope, and you know of a machine translation (MT) engine that does support these languages, we can facilitate a connection to that engine.

Additionally, we offer the capability to connect to proprietary MT systems — these are systems that have been trained with your unique dataset and can be accessed privately, ensuring confidentiality and customization for your translation needs.

2. Is it available only as a web interface or is there a desktop application? If desktop: also for Linux?

Answer : Wordscope is a cloud application (no desktop versions). It is available on all browsers, on Macs and PCs.

3. Is Wordcope effective for all types of documents? How does it deal with images and tags?

Answer : Wordscope can assist in translating a variety of document formats while preserving the original layout, including DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, HTML, SRC, IDML, JSON, XLF, XML, and more. Additionally, formatting within sentences is managed using tags to ensure that the structure and presentation of content remain consistent. It cannot translate images.

4. Wordscope is exceptional! This MT is a dream for any translator. I am going to search this website later. Thank you for this presentation!

Answer : Thank you for your kind words. To discover all the power of Wordscope, please feel free to sign up. Upon registration, you will receive a complimentary Bronze subscription, which enables you to undertake up to 3 projects per month.

4bis. It would be great to see more about terminology and glossary coherence. How about formatting, especially in XML where you have lots of photos and drawings?

Answer : We didn't have the time to showcase everything, but another webinar will be organized soon in collaboration with ProZ.com, where we will have the opportunity to discuss terminology. As for the XML and tags, you can already give them a try via https://pro.wordscope.com.

5. How good would be the output with more creative texts, such as marketing material for instance?

Answer : Machine translation systems are likely not suitable for slogans or short phrases, and they typically don't have parameters that allow for style adjustments. However, with ChatGPT, it's a different story. You can give it instructions to employ a specific writing style, like "marketing" or "poetic," and it will take these instructions into account when generating texts !!

6. How's good at translating literature/ professional terms such as medical or law?

Answer : For technical, medical, or legal documentation, MT systems generally perform quite well. However, they are typically less effective for literature. This is where ChatGPT and other upcoming Large Language Models (LLMs) will provide invaluable assistance, filling in the gaps where traditional machine translations may fall short.

7. Is word scope available in Somali?

Answer : Wordscope may not be available in certain countries due to legal reasons, and this availability can change. Please try visiting https://pro.wordscope.com to see if access is available in your location.

8. Will it accept open source software such as Open Office?

Answer : yes

9. How can it handle consistency across sentences? That is, using the same word across many sentences.

Answer : Currently with terminology tools, very soon with ChatGPT or other tools.

10, The access to all these AI options are included in Wordscope without the need to pay for each of them separately to activate them?

Answer : Yes, that's correct! With Wordscope, you gain access to *all* AI options as part of your Silver or Gold subscription ! We exclusively use the professional versions of all tools to ensure data confidentiality.

11. Where is the draft translation coming from? Wordscope or Chat GPT?

Answer : From multiple MT system and/or ChatGPT

12. Can you open packages in Wordscope, work on them and send them back as a package to the client?

Answer : You can do that with xlf files (xliff).

There's an even simpler method if you wish to share the project with a client or colleague for review, for instance: You can switch to review mode and send a secure Revise URL to your client, who can then access and review your translation directly. This does not require the installation of any software on the client's computer, as the secure URLs function similarly to Zoom meeting links by embedding the password within the link for project access.

13. How much does it cost? Is there a special discount for developing countries?

Answer : Please visit the page : https://pro.wordscope.com/?action=sub

14. Are there any privacy issues working with ChatGPT, even if the link of the project is private?

Answer : No privacy issues: we are using only the pro version of ChatGPT, which is the only version that guarantees confidentiality
.

15. How do you deal with languages that have 20 variants, like Spanish?

Answer : We support the main variants, maybe not all of them. Please check the list when you create a project.

This is contradicted
1) By Gabriel this afternoon saying all ChatGPT versions are safe
2) By the UK government banning all government employees from accessing ChatGPT from their work computers

Who should we trust here, two AI salesmen with different stories or a major government...?

No transparent info on prices on the website Mar 7

One of the questions also was if data confidentiality is given when pasting text (or uploading files) into the tool on the website.

secure URLs in Zoom

He he, good joke. Chinese software Zoom won the 2023 Big Brother award.

There is a simple way to check Christopher, read it yourself: https://openai.com/security

Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 20.14.37

"Will OpenAI use my content to improve models and services?
1/Data submitted through the OpenAI API is not used to train OpenAI models or improve OpenAI’s service offering.
2/Data submitted through non-API consumer services ChatGPT or DALL·E may be used to improve our models. "

Wordscope uses ONLY APIs to talk to chatGPT (data is NOT used to train openAI models)

If you use ChatGPT via their website website, you are submitting via non-API services: data may be used... (unless you opt out)

OK, they say it won’t be used for training, but it might be passed on to third parties. That’s the key issue.
