For Word 2003
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Advanced tab in the Options dialog box.
Under Keep track of formatting, click to clear the Mark formatting inconsistencies check box.
Click to clear the Keep track of formatting check box.
Click OK.


Tools --- Options --- Edit --- Keep track of formatting, clear it!!!
