Biografia
On this section I mean to offer a wider -though short- vision of my working experiences which are not directly related to translation even though I think of them as a plus and an essential part of my skills as a translator.

To start with, my decission to study History comes from the will to understand the present, to know how we made it to be the way we are now. That's why the choice on Contemporary History (nineteenth and twentieth centuries), more precisely, the political and economic development, the roots of that narrower connection that drove us to our globalized world.

As an undergraduate I took an Erasmus year in Manchester, which meant a clear breaking point for the way I saw certain things. The mainly practical focus of British university, against the theoretical Spanish teaching system, forced to do research, to find out where to look at to get the information you need for the equation instead of simply waiting for it to come.

Far from becoming a historian, I focused on the parallel career that allowed me to pay for my education: bars and restaurants. The food and drink industry has been the family business for three generations now, and it's doing well. Dealing with costumers, negotiating with suppliers, managing staff, organizing events, being sorrounded by music, first amateur translations of food and cocktail menus, budget control. And people, lots of people.

Dealing with so many people makes it easier to meet partners for the journey, like the friends I launched with and interior design company -a failed enterprise that allowed me to know deeper some other passions such as design, architecture or fashion-, or Nando, who first proposed me to work as a translator for Gaz Mag.

That experience was just great, hence the will for doing a Master on Translation, to have a better knowledge and understanding of translating, to offer a better service.

And it seems to be working well: since I decided to study a Master on Specialized Translation (audiovisual, legal, economic, scientific-technical and localization), I am collaborating on a regular basis with agencies from Europe and North America, doing projects for brands such as Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Huawei, Dom Pérignon, Moët Chandon, Toyota, Louis Vuitton, Paco Rabanne, Cointreau, Canon or HP, to name a few.

In September 2012 I presented my dissertation on audiovisual translation, since I aim the most to work on this field, even though I love both Social Sciences and marketing just as much.

And that is just the beginning of the journey, since learning should never end.
