Text d'origen - Anglès La edificación original de la Catedral de Tudela data de 1180 a 1190 con diversas ampliaciones en los siglos XV y XVI. El análisis exhaustivo de la documentación, facilitada por la Institución Príncipe de Viana, sobre la historia constructiva de la catedral ha permitido concluir, que la Catedral fue edificada en su práctica totalidad con “caliza campanil”. La arenisca se introduce como material constructivo en 1682 al rehacer la torre y a partir de 1949 se intercaló como elemento de reposición en paramentos de caliza. El uso de cemento Portland arranca en 1930 aunque el comienzo de su uso generalizado puede datarse en la restauración del claustro (1949-56) y en todas las actuaciones posteriores.
Los deterioros presentes en la Catedral son los propios debidos a humedades y cristalización de sales que son relativamente comunes en otros edificios históricos del valle del Ebro, excepto un deterioro muy severo y rápido con formas de deterioro semejantes a una fracturación mecánica con roturas de superficies concoideas y bordes afilados. Dicha patología agrieta los sillares y provoca el desprendimiento de numerosos fragmentos de los capiteles, especialmente de las partes labradas y consecuentemente de mayor valor artístico. Este proceso de deterioro que afecta a la “caliza campanil”existió siempre en la catedral pero con unas manifestaciones moderadas. No obstante, a comienzo de los años 70 existe una generalización e incremento de la intensidad de deterioro que perdura hasta nuestros días.
Traducció - Espanyol The original building of the cathedral dates from 1180 to 1190 with various extensions in the XV and XVI centuries. A more thorough analysis of the documentation regarding the building history of the cathedral, which was provided by the Principe de Viana Institute, has allowed us to conclude that the cathedral was erected in its entirety with campanile limestone. Sandstone was introduced as a building material in 1682 when the tower was rebuilt and from 1949 Portland cement was combined as a replacement element in limestone construction elements. The use of Portland cement began in 1930, although its more generalized use dates from the restoration of the cloister in 1949-56 and from later interventions.
The current damage in the Cathedral is due to damp and salt crystallizations, which are relatively common in other historic buildings in the Ebro Valley, except for a very severe and rapid deterioration which presents a morphology similar to a mechanical fracture with breakages of convex surfaces and sharp edges. This pathology causes the ashlars to crack and provokes the loosening of numerous fragments from the capitals, specially the carved elements that have a greater artistic value. This process of deterioration, which affects the campanile limestone has always existed, although with moderate manifestations. However, this deterioration has generalized and increased in intensity since the beginning of the 70s and it still ongoing nowadays

Biografia
I qualified as a psychiatric nurse in England and then went on to do a degree in Spanish and German at London Metropolitan University. In 1995 I completed an MA in Specialized and technical translation at the University of Westminster.
I have worked as a translator, interpreter and a linguist in London and in Spain. While I was in London I was the translations co-ordinator for the European section of a translation agency. I have also worked in a variety of settings as a trainer and in the psychological health field for many years alongside my translation work.
My interest in languages, cultures, people and communication continues to this day and I am currently doing further training in the field of inter-cultural mediation and inter-cultural competence.
After many years in London I am now based in Valencia.
