"Enter" to Confirm segments and go to the next unconfirmed segment

All my life I have used "Enter" to Confirm segments and go to the next unconfirmed segment. With Trados 2022, I have noticed that this affects applying the autosuggest function. When those little windows pop up in a segment, I would normally use Enter to insert them, but now I can only use TAB. When I set Confirm segment and go to the next unconfirmed segment to "CTRL+ENTER", Enter works with the autosuggest function.

Is this a bug or a "feature"?

Tweak the shortcut Apr 2

I don't know how you set Enter to confirm segments before and why it does not work now, but you can try to tweak the shortcut.

1. Close Trados first.
2. Go to C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17\
3. Open UserSettings.xml with Notepad or Notepad++
(before opening it, make a copy of the original file just in case)
4. Search for "ConfirmAndMoveToNextUnconfirmedSegmentAction"
5. In the line that reads as <Value>Return

6. Save the file and close it.
7. Start Trados and check if it works as you expect it.
8. If you are happy with the result, remove the copy you created in step 3.

I've always used Ctrl+Enter since the first version of Trados Studio... Apr 3

...so I guess it's just a default thing. But you can always change the shortcuts as needed, right within the app: Options > Keyboard shortcuts > Editor.
I do try a few times but can't change the shortcut to "Enter" only, the "OK" button is automatically selected whenever I hit Enter. The behavior might be different in your machine, though.

This is exactly why you need to tweak the usersettings file.

I always tweak the XML file Apr 3

I always tweak the XML file to use ENTER to confirm and move to the next unconfirmed segment because hitting enter is more intuitive than ctrl+enter (at least for me), but now it messes up inserting the autosuggest values. I guess I will have to get used to the TAB button now. I don't know why they suddenly changed that behaviour.
