There is no forum for Dummies and Technically Impaired, so I am osting my dummie question here.

I have received a project (several files) that has to be translated with SDL Lite, a program I have very little experience with.

Now, the word count given by the client is X, while I get a total wordcount of Y, using the Statistics option. The difference is about 4000 words.

I asked the client and he explained that the files had been converted using autopropagate function, which means I will not have to edit 100% matches.

Memory was supplied, but as far as I can see, it is empty (for example, when I use concordance search for a word "the" or "use" or the like, nothing appears).

My question is, are these 100% matches repetitions what we call "repetitions" in Trados, or they must be already translated and included in the memomory supplied by the client?

How to proceed Oct 14, 2005

Hi Tina,
It means that the repetitions will be copied automatically by SDLX.
You should proceed as follows:

go to tools -> options -> autopropagate -> check "enable", mark 75%, mark "first segment"

This will start propagating repeats within the text, so that they show up already translated. You do not need to confirm them.
