Experience
Years of experience: 11. Registered at ProZ.com: Jan 2015.
I have a degree in Geology and a Masters in Petroleum Sciences and Engineering. I am a member of the Society for Exploration Geophysics, the American Geophysical Union ant the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers. With 13 years experience, I have experienced GIS, mining, government and mostly O&G industries.
While at an O&G company, I spent 6 years in the R&D department, working with well known names in the industry. As you can imagine, reading english was quite routine. I even did revert some papers and abstracts from coworkers (mind you, the company provided service was considered slow and unreliable!)
I did also work in two open source projects, as translator. One is the well known GRASS GIS, the other was a financial planner.
When not working I like to read and watch movies (specially with a military slant). I did also translate some episodes from a military inspired series, but I did find the frame sync to be the hardest part.
I want to translate because I can't stand seeing some mistakes repeating so often, specially when those are in my specialty (or affinity, such as military)
