"PANIC!!" Virus?

Guys.. my word files are getting a postfix of "PANIC!!"

I need quick suggestions on how/where to download a patch..

Does anyone have more info? Please advice URGENTLY!

I did.. they didn't seem to have any information about this new virus. Sep 9, 2003

I checked on Google, McAfee same thing.. there are some articles talking about it, but no concrete replies or help there.

"panic searching" at McAfee did it for me Sep 9, 2003

I did find six hits searching for "panic" on the McAfee site (all including removal instructions): http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=alphar
(this link may no longer work, but just the home page of McAfee itself and then the search function.
Hope it helps - or better yet - that you've already got it all remedied by now!

Here's a link to Trend Micro site with the search for "panic".
There's a few viruses with that name so maybe one of them is the one that caught your computer and you can "cure" it.
