In my particular language pair, however, I am hesitant. A company that is not capable of deciphering my English CV might not be able to judge the English source texts that I will be given. (Quote [translated from a phone conversation in German]: "Nothing technical! Really easy! It doesn't contain any Latin words!" The text turns out to be about oil and gas drilling. But, hey, no Latin words!!]

No, I'm not uploading my CV in any language. All the information is in my profile and I will send my CV only upon request and only to selected outsourcers. Far too many companies out there only collect translators CVs for various tenders just to show off to their customers - but only in the bidding phase. There have been many threads about it on forums. For example herehere or here.
Another thing is that a CV usually includes lots of personal data, telephones, addresses, references. I don't want it to be freely searched by Google and other search engines.
I think it's a big mistake to publish one's CV. A well written CV is a powerful marketing tool and it needs to be updated and tailored. Freelance translators should better control who is getting it and for what purpose.

Or to sample translations.
Well, some of us are simply not quite as exhibitionist as to do that. For various reasons. No offence meant to those who feel free to do otherwise
And I wish to never again get reminded to "complete" my profile by adding information I refuse to make public.

I used to have my CV uploaded but once I Googled myself and found my CV, cached into the open, all personal info flying free for anyone to see, so I removed it again. Somehow I had the idea that it would only be visible to people who visited -this site-, but no, the whole Internet could have a peek!
So, never again. When I get the time I'm making a proper presentation page instead. But I'm too busy translating at the moment...

Keeping my CV up to date in 4 languages would be full time job. No, thanks. 1 language is enough.
As for risk of exposing personal information - my CV available in internet does not include it, except for 1 phone number and emails addresses, which are not clickable, so no crawler can use them. I don't see a reason to include my home address or other sensitive information to any anonymous individual, who happens to open my CV.

Bad news, Anna, I've got your CV searching Google and it is convered to HTML; when clicking on your email address my email client opens with your email. Writting "(at)" instead of "@" did not work to avoid clicking.
You'd better convert the file to a bitmap image (png, gif, jpg, etc) with Gimp or Photoshop and then make a new PDF file with the bitmap image inside.

I cannot agree more.
Also, I do not have any "CV" any longer for many years now: I do offer my services, I am not applying for a job as employee. I do not ask my dentist, lawyer or baker for his/her CV either.

My CV is available on request in English and Spanish, but for the many reasons already stated, I don't want it to be permanently accessible. What I have done in my life education and workwise is my business. The main information is in my profile anyway, but the nitty gritty details are only for serious potential clients.

I completely agree about not putting personal details out in the open like that. My CV is available in German and/or English upon request, period. Anyone who wants more information than can be found in my profile or website can ask me, and I will be happy to oblige.

No for the same reasons as all the others.
But an idea: it is not diffult to program a button with request CV in :
say: English, French, Dutch, Spanish, German, Swedish, Japanese, Russian, Chinese and all other possible languages.
When an outsourcer pushes on this button, the translator/interpreter receives a request to sent their CVs and can decide to do so or to decline.

I uploaded it a few years back, and ended up finding it on Google, as other people here have explained.
I agree with Magda Dziadosz - a good CV is a marketing tool, and mine is available on request - for people I chose to work with.
