Turkish term

qranvakalli

Turkish to English Tech/Engineering Geology
polimikt (kvars-col spati-qranvakalli)
This is from description of rock from a well. Must be some kind of rock like quartz and feldspar

The text is actually in Azeri, but I thought that maybe the word is taken from Turkish, as it cannot be found Azeri dictionaries
Proposed translations (English)

Discussion

I wish you could have provided this info earlier. That stone is "graywacke", possibly from German "Grauwacke", and the Turkish name for it is "grovak"
Talyb Samedov (asker) Nov 30, 2005:
One of specialists ruggested that it is a "greywacke" - a kind a stone. Funny, but in Russian it is "grauvakka", so maybe they just invented the word by addding "li" to a Russian word at the end to make it an Azeri adjective. And they also made a spelling error, it should have been "grauvakkali".
Thanks to everybody who responded!
Özden Arıkan Nov 25, 2005:
does not resemble turkish the least. still, i searched some possible variations trying to adapt it to turkish spelling in a couple of ways, but to no avail. i think the answer should be found in azeri again.
