I thought I posted my comments here but they don't seem to have appeared... Anyway, to repeat: I wholeheartedly agree with Frank's comments! The immediate word association with 'orientation' to anyone living in the UK and perhaps the US as well, would be 'sexual' :)... Not sure that's what the author had in mind.

It looks like there is a coined term for this questionnaire. Let me observe only that, in my opinion, "life orientation" means nothing to an average person on the street. If you look at the questions themselves, they gauge a person's attitudes/views toward life, not "life orientation," whatever it is. This is another attempt (again, in my opinion) of a non-exact science trying to sound scientific. OK. I've said my peace.
