Discussion

Natalya Sogolovsky Jan 27, 2011:
Actually I translated it as "category" to keep closer to the original :-)
Natalya Sogolovsky Jan 27, 2011:
מ''כ רובאי 08
לוחם חי''ר 07
עובד חדר מבצעים 06
סייר שריון 05
חובש קרבי 07
לוחם גרילה 07
You see, there are different military professions with the same training category.

It looks like you are right http://www.fxp.co.il/showthread.php?t=5858590

Maybe, training level?
Natalya Sogolovsky Jan 27, 2011:
As far as I know it defines training level and I'm going to find you some examples - just to be sure I'm not mistaken :-)
boostrer (asker) Jan 27, 2011:
Isn't it same as military occupational specialty code? I mean, it defines specialty or training level?
Natalya Sogolovsky Jan 27, 2011:
סוג טירונות The soldiers get trained according to the military profession. It is the training category.

If the document you are translating is the army release certificate, the word usually means "סוג תירונות". But they don't write it that way...

I mean that they don't write "סוג טירונות", but just "סוג". Sorry for the typoin the original explanation.
Note from asker:
Yes, it is a release certificate. What do you mean by "But they don't write it that way"?
Thank you!
