"aufgerufen am [date]" This appears repeatedly in the bibliography of a scientific paper. In the cases where it occurs, the title of the reference is cited, followed by a url for a web site, and then "(aufgerufen am...)

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

neutral Armorel Young : The "initial" confuses me. If the author consulted the website on a number of occasions, why is it the first date that matters - wouldn't the last time it was checked be more relevant?

To be honest, Armorel, I hadn't figured it out either. It's the advice I found on Scribendi, and my thinking here was: If someone is so specific about it, they must have a good reason. Of course, by simply saying "accessed on", the issue does not arise.

This ensures that any changes to the information at a later date cannot be contested on the basis of the scientific paper presented.
