: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrstrasse. Absolutschutz ist völlig ungebräuchlich. Nur 8 Links bei Google (ohne Eisenbahnbezug). Im gegebenen Zusammenhang würde ich das auch als "zwingenden Flankenschutz" interpretieren.

: sry, but there is; as outlinde @polyglott, there ist no such term in rail terminolgoy - but the usage of "protection" is rather in military. In the given context "Absolutschutz" refers to very specific measures that IMO should not be translated literally
