Here is the English translation and the German original. Note that in the English translation the word Bedarfsträger is simply not translated. This is the only online reference to the term as used by SAP.

Planned orders contain material requirements that are calculated automatically in the planning
run or that are created manually by the MRP controller. Planned orders are converted into

I respectfully would like to differ with all my learned colleagues' answers above.

The correct SAP term for Bedarfsträger is any of the three terms above depending on the context. Here's how you find out:

1. Go to http://help.sap.com/
2. Initiate the search facility
3. Type Bedarfsträger and select German
4. You are offered three internal SAP documents

5. Click on first one:

You see the term used in a definition. Now go to the URL in your browser window and located "DE" and change it to "EN". You will now get the corresponding SAP term in English, which in this case is 'organizational unit'. Note that the context is 'external procurement'.

6. Now go to the second document offered under the search result:

Follow the same procedure as 5 above. You get the English equivalent 'recipient'. The context here is 'reservation processing'.
