Influence of heat on the efficacy of pharmaceutical ingredients
The one translation I found is *thermal reduction*, but most google hits have to do with thermal reduction of magnisium and graphite.
The other is *thermal decomposition*
Thermal decomposition or thermolysis, is a chemical decomposition caused by heat. The decomposition temperature of a substance is the temperature at which the substance chemically decomposes. (Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_decomposition).
Is that what the author means here?
Thanks

thermal reduction
...of oral vaccine efficacy. "Thermisch" relates to the phrase "Reduzierung der Wirksamkeit" ; i.e. reduction in efficacy.
So in the preferred embodiment, hardening occurs at 5 degrees below the temperature that results in thermal reduction of oral vaccine efficacy.
Hope that helps,
Stefan
