Glossary entry (derived from question below)
German term
Glasfloh
I am translating specifications for the supply of vehicle glass by a manufacturer of emergency vehicles.
Under the headline "Prüfung", I found the following sentence:
Bei der mechanischen Bearbeitung, einbringen von Ausschnitten und Bohrungen, können sich auf der Glasoberfläche kleine Ansammlungen von nicht sichtbaren Glassplittern (fachlich „Glasflöhe“) bilden.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks
Peter

Glass Glass can only be engraved. After engraving, you MUST run a scrubber sponge on the surface to remove the micro-shards the laser created in the glass.

: Fleabites, also in the glaze of porcelain or china, are almost invisible chips caused by flaking or chipping. The simplest test for fleabites on rims is to pass the tip of your tongue over the rim. The term is not used to describe the particles.
