Discussion

Cristina Moldovan do Amaral (asker) Apr 21, 2006:
I found out from my client that "Aer" means "Aerobics". Who would have thought? Thank you again for all your help!
Cristina Moldovan do Amaral (asker) Apr 20, 2006:
I just asked my client to describe what she studied during the Aer classes, and she will get back to me in a few hours. I will let all of you know.
Cristina Moldovan do Amaral (asker) Apr 20, 2006:
Thank you! INF means Informatik. The diploma was issued in 2002 and the person was 17. Aer is the last subject on the list.
itla Apr 20, 2006:
Does INF mean Informatik? What subject comes after Aer? How old is the person for whom this certificate was issued? Authorized Education Reseller seems to be pretty much off the mark, given the curriculum of the Heinrich Böll Schule. Yet: someone agreed.
Cristina Moldovan do Amaral (asker) Apr 20, 2006:
Thank you, Brigitte! The certificate was issued by "Heinrich –Böll-Schule" from Fürth, Germany. Please also note thar the Aer is an abbreviation as opposed to AER, which is an acronym.
Brigitte Albert (X) Apr 20, 2006:
I have googled several ministries (Austria, Sachsen, Berlin) and the only mention of Aer is in the Austrian ministry website which specifically mentions the Microsoft agreement...is it possible that there is a Microsoft sponsored course?

agree Ingeborg Gowans (X) : this is quite an innovative concept then, is it?

It seems so, Ingeborg; I'm not sure that it's the one that is meant in the document....perhaps marcusg is on the right track! ...
disagree Craig Meulen : This doesn't make sense - the AER referred to here is definitely not a "Fach"

You are probably right... we have all tried looking up various ministries or school subject lists and this was mentioned on the Austrian Educ. ministry's website...I thought it might be a new program of computer sales training...But I could be off-base!

Arbeitslehre

Basically, I found no trace of "Aer" but "Arbeitslehre" is quite

common in the context of a "Integrierte Gesamtschule".

Sorry, but it seems that I didn't notice the most obvious term:
"Aesthetische Erziehung" (Wahlpflichfach).
That makes sense for me.
