Deutsch term

ausgeben

Deutsch > Englisch Technik Computer: Software data output--software
I just typed in the longest explanation ever, and it didn't go through. So to sum it up...

Ausgabe--output
ausgeben--to output
How about in one sentence:

Alle Ausgabefunktionen in Prosoft, geben sämtliche aktuell in der Analysentabelle angezeigten Analysen aus.

Can't be "print" or "display"; both are too specific. Any ideas?

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Jul 13, 2005:
hendrik: with "show" I'm not sure the whole sentence makes sense: "all output functions ... show all analyses currently (displayed or shown) in the analysis table". Seems to me this is an export function...
Non-ProZ.com Jul 13, 2005:
francisco: "bearbeiten" seems to me closer to edit, and that already came up earlier.
Marcus Malabad Jul 13, 2005:
no need to enter "in this context"

output

My take would be to stick with 'output' for 'Ausgabe' and 'ausgeben' and translate 'angezeigt' here as 'shown'.
Naturally, 'all of the output functions in Prosoft output...' isn't going to win any prizes for style, but the German is hardly any better. In any case, one of the cardinal rules in technical writing is to maintain absolute consistency of terminology.

How about edit or editing functions? Hope it helps.

disagree Endre Both : Editing is different from outputting.

provide

What with display, show, output all showing up, this might fit in your context.

return

This is often used for the "production" of an output function - if the "Ausgabe" is on screen, you might also use "display".
