English term

uniform

Non-PRO English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters uniform
You do get people obviously under the influence, maybe of a drug or alcohol. They're not themselves, they act out. It's not usually you, it's a uniform.

Duty manager in a train station talking about a situation. I didn't get what he means by "Not usually you, it's a uniform".

Thanks in advance,

It's not personal, they are reacting to the uniform

People are reacting to the uniform and the individual's role as an enforcer, not to the officer personally.
