Had a great time, thanks Patrick for organising a really memorable event which for reasons better not gone into may be difficult at least for this participant to remember, and to all your family for making it happen!

Great to meet you all, and now there'll be more faces to recognise the next time we meet! - does it really have to happen only once every six months?

Next time we'll have to put Berni on a little platform so he can regale us right through the meal, and not deprive us of a great voice for so long.

...and anyway, Pepelu, was there anyone there with a red polo or a light blue polo - can't say I noticed, but I always was bad at circulating!

Meanwhile I'll work on getting into training...

this is for the ones going by train to Sant Sadurn: what about taking the train that gets there at 13:02?
Patrick was saying to meet at the station around 13:00, so I think that's pretty good (and we don't have to get up too early either!) ;-) I will get on in Martorell, so if I don't see u on the train, hope to meet you all at Sant Sadurn's Station! :-D

I'm a non-carnivore... dificult to maintain in Catalunya. But I believe I am not alone in this :-)

BTW is there a swimming pool at your place? My wife says she will come if there is a pool to keep our over-active 3 year old happy.

SATURDAY 6th JULY 13:00 HRS.

ME once again. Nearly there!!! this is to confirm the time and date of the barbecue/gettogether/event/marvelous memorable day.

If people could make to my place by 13:00, so we can have a wee drink and get acquainted. We will probably be having lunch by two.

Now as I mentioned before, I have a van available that seats seven people, so those of you who will be coming by train, arrange it among yourselves to catch the same train and let me know of your time of arrival at st. sadurni station.

Also I need to know who will be needing a vegetarian meal.

Instructions for reaching El Trapiche from Barcelona.
By Car:

Follow A7/A2 Motorway Direction Tarragona and after Toll gates at Martorrell continue for a further 11 km to exit 27 signposted Sant Sadurni dAnoia. At the bottom of the ramp go around roundabout direction Barcelona/Ordal/N340, over the motorway and around second roundabout still following signs for Barcelona/Ordal. Continue on BP 2427 up hill for about 3 Km through very small village of Els Casots (Really a hamlet of a very few houses). Once through Els Casots continue for further 600 m and you will come to a lane on the left which leads directly down to the house.

By Train:

Train Station Nearest to us: Sant Sadurni DAnoia

Take train in Plaza Catalunya on Platform 2 direction St. VICENC DE CALDERS or VILAFRANCA DEL PENEDS. Usual times are at 20 minutes past the hour they will go to VILAFRANCA and at 10 minutes to the hour they will go to ST. VICENC.
The station before the one you have to get off is called GELIDA, the next one is SANT SADURNI DANOIA.

I really do hope to participate to the next barcelona pow-wow...
It seems that it might take place in Patrick's "hacienda" down by the the Sant Sadurni Missisipi River...
Who's the big chief who can confirm it ?
I am anxious to go there "me and my gal" and do hope that there will be some Dixyland band (orb new orleans) to welcome us to the barbecue !

I am joking but please count me in (2 persons) and kindly let me have the instructions to go there.

As far as I understand, this time it is for sure "Patrick 32" will organize the pow wow in Sant Sadorni... I will be delighted to join with my "fiance" Eva (shis is not a profesional translator but she speaks currently 5 languages).

I have no car neitheir driving licence (at 53 years old, I might be considered as some kind of Martian...) but I know how to reach sant Sadurni amb el Ferrocaril de la generalitat (am I mistaking ???)
The only thing I would appreciate is :
1/- To have the full name and address of Patrick + phone number or private e-mail.
2/- To know (just for info) what would be the fees.
3/- To be sure to receive a confirmation of the date and place if possible one week before the Pow wow.

I attended to the last Pow Wow in december : it was very sympathic but I am afraid we did not exchange many valuable information on our market...
I do hope it wil be different this time. I also do hope that Girona members will join us.

Hello all, though still a month to go before the event, I would like to make the suggestion now, so that all of those who are still pondering can make up their minds.
So the idea is for all to meet up at my place on the 6th at around 1300 hrs. We will start the event "como corresponde": cava, fuet, munchies, etc.
Then we will have a Cordero a crucificado (a la Argentina)6 hours cooked in front of a fire. (there will also be a vegetarian option available). With the cordero we shall be having butifarra, escalibada, pa amb tomaquet, salads, dessert, etc. Obviously copious amounts of vino to accompany the meal.
The price will be all inclusive. as I metioned previously on my suggestion for the first December event, the masia is an ideal setting for all of us to get together in one place outdoors.
so there it is once more I hope to meet you all!!!. I would like to know well in advance so I can get things moving. We have a van available for picking up anyone coming by train from the Sant Sadurni Station.

Henry had to cut his trip to Europe short and so will not be joining us at the Masia - if that is where it will end up being held.
Oh, well, I'm sure we'll all still enjoy a face to face meeting, if Girona is anything to go by. Click on the Girona Powwow to see my report on that one.

I tried to notify people for the Girona powwow and had to do mailings by first choosing language pairs and then 'living in Spain'. What did this mean? That some people will have got about four messages and others will have got none. There are only so many hours in a day to select possible language pairs! Again, the group message option is limited to the first 100 people listed in the language pairs so 101 onwards receive no notification. In any case, its a good idea as almost 50% of the Girona participants (that means three!!) found out about it through these messages.
