My bilingualism (Portuguese and English) naturally led me to activities in which I could help people communicate. In my sophomore year (1995) I got my first job as an interpreter for an international conference, and in 2000 I started translating and interpreting regularly for outsourcers. I find translation an intellectually stimulating challenge, which makes me one of those translators who actually enjoy their trade.
Most subjects in the broad fields of Science and the Arts interest me and I regularly publish scholarly articles on music creativity, media, information theory, communication theory, musicology, and computer music. Until 2018, I was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where I developed mathematical models of music analysis and software for computer-assisted composition.
I currently live in the Greek island of Evia (Euboea) in the crossroads between the mountains, the woods, and the sea.
